Today we had the honor and the privilege of photographing Betty Williams senior session starting at her home tennis court. Betty is an avid tennis player for her high school Mesilla Valley Christian School. Her mother Hannah had contracted me to photograph Betty's session to create some cool and unique images just like her other daughter Viviana's. So we headed out to the tennis court where we started the session under a semi overcast sky! Here are just a few of those images on the court...
Betty had several outfits to go through and we had several more hours of light left. We then proceeded to a little park located in the same area as the tennis court to continue photographing and creating imagery that not only flattered Betty but offered some cool backgrounds to separate her. As always I took out the Profoto B1's to sculpt the light to flatter Betty and to help those colors she chose to pop and naturally saturate them. Below you will see a cool outfit that she chose to photograph in this area and how awesome she looks in her outfit.
Next we went to a handball court which also had graffitti on the wall which created some cool out of focus areas. She came out with this bright yellow dress that she felt confident in and offered some different posing. We brought out the B1 with a 3' octa box to sculpt her face and body and also place shadows where needed. Betty had so much fun in this outfit especially when she figured out that she had some side pockets.
Betty is an African Princess and she brought out this amazingly beautiful African outfit. She wore the traditional headpiece and displayed the absolute beauty in the colors, the headpiece and the overwhelming confidence she displayed while wearing this dress. We used some non-traditional lighting to help separate her from the dark background which had a light in the park that also offered a bit of ambience.
