Main Shooting for Isaiah Orozco
On August 18, 2018 in the great City of Albuquerque, New Mexico I had the honor of photographing a Wedding for Isaiah Orozco. He had double booked Weddings that day and needed someone reliable to capture the Wedding of Eduardo and Angelina. I was excited for this couples big day even though I did not know or even had the chance to meet them. It was going to be a beautiful Wedding and I knew that we would create some great images because I was confident that I could photograph anywhere and produce.
The day started with a 3 1/2 hour drive from Las Cruces to Albuquerque so I left home at around 7:00am. As I was driving I was thinking to myself how am I going to photograph times when I need an on camera flash? As a Certified Professional Photographer and a Photographic Craftsman degree recipient I knew I could adapt and overcome any obstacle.
We started at the brides house to get some getting ready shots and some images with her bridesmaids. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful home to photograph in because Angelina's home was amazing with natural light coming from all directions. As soon as I entered I decided right away which blinds to close and open for the best possible quality of light.
Connie the brides mother asked that I take some specific pictures to showcase the home, the love and unity that Angelina and her cousins, friends and siblings share. Above you will see all of the images captured at the brides home and the story begins!
The ceremony took place in a Catholic Church in the South Valley of Albuquerque. As soon as I walked in the deacon advised me of all of the rules that I needed to follow. He was very understanding and knew that I needed to get specific images for the couple. The best thing of all is that the Priest informed everyone that the couple and the church wanted an unplugged wedding, which did not allow anyone in the church to take photographs or video except for the hired photographer and the videographer.
As the mass concluded we setup one light at the back of the church to create a direction of light for the family, bridal party and other portraits we needed to create in the church prior to leaving the area. You will see that we used just the necessary amount of light and was able to capture some of the ambient light inside the church.
Creating beautiful portraits for the couple is the icing on the cake! I thoroughly enjoy creating this images because the couple is not only looking their absolute best but I am able to get creative with light and posing. Here you are seeing the fun and the love that the couple shares for one another that can't be faked!
I brought in 2 lights to overpower the sun which was at it's peak around noon time. This couple was so much fun because they liked to make faces at one another and stick their tongues out. It was an absolute honor to tell Eduardo and Angelina's story through my images.
It was time for the fun and that is what a reception is all about fun, eating, dancing and well you know alcohol consumption. Their reception was held at the Best Western Rio Grande Inn located right off of I40 and Rio Grande Ave.
The couple had their first dance, the bride danced with her father and the groom with his mother. After those dances the bride wanted to dance with her mother and they both had a great time. I also thought it was important to capture a moment of the Groom with his Grandmother from Puerto Rico. I want to wish Eduardo and Angelina a happy life together wherever the military will take them. Thank you to Isaiah Orozco for hiring me to tell this wonderful couples big day and for trusting in me.
